Your instructor
With over a decade of experience navigating the complexities of the financial markets, Rado Bristilov has developed a real expertise in special situation investing—a niche area that looks at event-driven opportunities and securities that are undervalued due to temporary dislocations or corporate events.
Rado is a highly experienced long-short manager with spelss at a number of hedge funds on both sides of the Atlantic. He started his career on the buy side at Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley and his experience includes a spell at Steve Cohen's firm, SAC Capital, in New York before moving to London.
His specialty is special situations investing and he won the inaugural Sohn London Ideas Competition before going on to found his own long-short fund, Samson Rock.
The Samson Rock Special Situations Fund deploys an alpha-driven, low net European focused strategy which relies on active long and short selection of equities that respectively benefit from or are impaired by special situations, corporate transformation, and secular disruption catalysts; often expressed with an activist value maximisation mindset
His career has gven him many years of hands-on investment practice, allowing him to understand both the theoretical underpinnings and the practical strategies necessary to identify and capitalize on unique investment scenarios, such as mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and spin-offs.
This deep-seated understanding of the market's mechanisms and a passion for teaching have culminated in the creation of the "Special Situation Investing" course.
He finds tremendous fulfillment in sharing this knowledge with others, guiding investors through often-overlooked niches of the financial world where there's significant potential for gain. He constantly strives to connect students with real-world applications, ensuring they leave the course not just with knowledge, but with the acumen to make impactful investment decisions.
