Checklists
Introduction
In this lecture we introduce the subject of checklists. We shall cover this in far greater detail in the follow up course.
The reading attachment is a useful checklist produced by the Motley Fool which contains some useful and sensible questions. If you use a standard checklist prepared by a third party, you will end up box-ticking. We recommend the best strategy is to start with a general checklist like this, but to modify it over time so that you develop a list of questions which is appropriate to your investing style and particularly to overcoming your behavioural biases.
It’s much better if you develop your own checklist of the factors that are important to you or simply the parameters that you tend to forget – it will be more effective.
